Day 2: 10:00 AM Pictured Rocks Boat Cruise.
Pictured Rocks Cruises have been conducting cruises for over 50 years guiding visitors to the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, a top Michigan vacation spot. The cruise is 2 1/2 to 3 hours and will travel into and alongside the most visually stunning 40 miles of shoreline on the Great Lakes! Cruises depart from the Munising, Michigan City Dock. The five current boats range between 65 and 78 feet in length, and can accommodate 129 to 250 passengers, depending on the boat. All boats have an upper (open-air) deck and an enclosed, lower cabin. The crew will assist in ticketing, safety instructions, and other needs. Their day cruises are narrated by the captain, who will inform you of a brief history of the tour boat, local area facts, and Michigan points of interest on this national park tour. All vessels have enclosed heated cabins, restrooms, stabilizers and sturdy seats for your comfort and safety.
Day 2: PM – 4:30 PM Grand Island Sunset Dinner Cruise
The dinner cruise around Grand Island will include a dinner at the Duck Pond Eatery and Beer Garden. After dinner you will meet your Captain and climb aboard the 40 foot M/V Uncle Ducky, a custom built catamaran. Your Captain and crew will take you out and around Grand Island National Recreation Area and delight you with the history of the Native Americans that called this place home for centuries all the while spotting eagles and their nests perched atop the 200 foot sandstone cliffs and the beautiful colors they offer all along the north shore. Take pictures of the 2 lighthouses on the island and enjoy the remoteness and solitude of this island paradise.
You will be eating and wetting your whistles at the Duck Pond Eatery and Beer Garden which is located next to the Paddlers Village in Christmas where you check in for the Grand Island Cruise.
