Upon your arrival on Day 1 at Au Train Beach Campground for your Northern Lights vacation package, you’ll be introduced to the luxurious world of Glamping. Your accommodation at our Au Train Beach campground will be a comfortably furnished Native American Tipi, designed to sleep up to 8 guests. It features 2 bunk beds with a single on top and a double bed on the bottom, a futon, a table with chairs, and a quaint deck. A hit with the kids, the exterior includes a charcoal grill, fire pit, and picnic table. The Tipi in our Northern Lights vacation rentals is also equipped with solar lighting, charging stations for electronics, and Wi-Fi connectivity, ensuring a blend of traditional camping with modern conveniences. Just remember to bring your bedding and personal items; we’ve got everything else covered. Glamping under the northern lights is the perfect getaway idea for families and couples.

Day 2 of our Northern Lights travel packages promises adventure as you kayak through the awe-inspiring 200-foot sandstone cliffs of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. This journey takes you past numerous sea caves, vibrant rock formations, and the iconic Lover’s Leap Archway. The day begins with an 8:30 am check-in and a light breakfast, followed by a bus ride to Miners Beach for gear-up and launch. A midday stop at the secluded Mosquito Beach offers a unique lunch setting, accessible only by hike or kayak. Post-lunch, continue exploring the cliffs’ natural wonders before returning to Miners Beach. Cap off the day with a complimentary dinner at the Duck Pond Eatery and Beer Garden, where you can indulge in Lake Superior Whitefish, BBQ pulled pork, or one of our signature burgers.

The itinerary for Day 3 of your Northern Lights trip package includes a leisurely paddle down the Au Train River, a perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the tranquility of the Hiawatha National Forest. As you navigate the calm waters for 3-4 hours, keep an eye out for eagles, ducks, songbirds, and other wildlife frequenting the riverbanks.

At 11:00 am, embark on a Grand Island Lunch cruise, starting with a meal at the Duck Pond Eatery and Beer Garden. Post-lunch, you’ll meet your captain for a journey aboard the 40-foot M/V Uncle Ducky catamaran. This cruise offers a glimpse into the area’s rich indigenous history and stunning natural beauty, including eagle sightings and the majestic sandstone cliffs.

Throughout your Northern Lights glamping experience, take advantage of the downtime to wander over to Au Train Beach. Whether you’re there to catch a sunset, enjoy a swim, or try paddleboarding, it’s the perfect backdrop to relax and soak in the beauty of Lake Superior’s shores.
