Canoeing
If you like to canoe with lots of people on crowded rivers then the Upper Peninsula is definitely not for you!
Our rivers are clean, clear, pristine and offer many opportunities to see wildlife, cool geography, and the fauna of the northern forest.
Canoes, in general, are not normally used on the Great Lakes but instead on the small lakes and rivers. We offer both canoe rentals and guided canoe expeditions on several rivers in the Upper Peninsula and in southern Ontario. The rivers we use are the Escanaba, Michigamme, Indian, Au Train, Ontaganon, Paint, Two-Hearted, Fox, Manistique, and in Canada the Batchawana and Sand Rivers.
Canoes available to rent and for our expeditions are Old Town Models from 15 -19 feet. We also offer some outfitting equipment such as, tents and cooking equipment. We can handle canoeing group sizes up to 25 and even larger if some use kayaks.
