Camping Gear Rentals and Packages

Why rent from US?

We feel that it is very important that you understand how you can save $$$ my renting your camping gear from Uncle Ducky Outdoors if you are coming to the Central Upper Peninsula or even passing through. As some outfitters we have chosen not to offer shipping for these items because of the cost involved to you and also because we want to restrict those renting our equipment to customers already coming up here for one of the various adventures we offer or folks planning a vacation here in the Upper Peninsula. So you don’t have to order this gear on line and have it shipped to you and then have to return it when you get home. Even if you rent from an outfitter downstate in the Midwest area you don’t have to transport the equipment back and forth. We can even have it already set up or help you set it up when you get here. And when you are finished you can just leave it all there just like a motel room or you can return it to us. Of course, this is a small charge for setting up and then picking up the gear but it can save you time. And while on your vacation time is precious.

Camping Equipment:

  • Tents
We have 2-6 man tents available. The 2 man tents are primarily for canoeing and kayaking adventures however may be used at established campgrounds as well. Easy to erect and take down. Stakes are included.
  • Sleeping Bags/Pads
Most people have their own sleeping bag and we encourage you to bring it with you. However, for sea kayak operations a mummy style bag is required due to its compatibility. Also available are the Therma- Rest self inflating pads.
  • Cookware
4 person kettle, pot, bowl, frying pan, dish and cup, and utensil kits are available.
  • Water Hydration
Used for untreated water. Campground water sources are generally ok but for purifying water from streams or lakes. Our units will do one full glass at a time. Not needed if you are boiling water.
  • Cooking Stoves
One and two burner propane stoves. 1 canister of propane included with rental. We recommend 1-2- single burner stoves for up to 3 people when kayaking. Camping the two burner model is more practical.
  • Campfire
Cooking grills. Fire starters. Butane lighters. Shovel for digging a pit and stopping a fire. In most campsites using an established fire ring is required.
  • Storage Bags
Sealed Dry Bags for keeping clothes and other items dry.
  • Water Storage
Tough abs material water storage tanks. 2-5 gallon. We also have the collapsible plastic buckets for transporting water.
  • Food Storage
Tough abs material “bear barrels” are great for food storage. Up to 1 day cooling. Self locking. 2-5 gallon.
  • Coolers
    Igloo coolers of various sizes.
