Big Bay Lighthouse & Harbor
Big Bay, Michigan
6 1/2 hours (8 miles)
Big Bay is a great area for the novice to the expert level
of sea kayaker to enjoy a very scenic stretch of the Lake Superior coastline. As we exit Big Bay Harbor, our point of origin, the wind direction will help determine our route. The easterly route will take us along beautiful beaches and around to Big Bay Point and the lighthouse. If we choose to go north, we will head to Salmon Trout Point passing granite outcroppings that mark this rocky coastline and continue around bay to the mouth of the Salmon Trout River.
